This is a collection of 5 studies of vaginas. This began as a celebration of vaginas, a study of their peculiarities, differences and handsomeness. Vaginas, periods, the lunar calendar and the natural world are all interconnected. The average menstrual cycle is one lunar month - 29.5 days. Within hunter-gatherer tribes, the phases of the moon dictated when it was suitable to hunt, but it was also when women traditionally synced their periods, and declared a 'sex strike'. This gave a framework for revolutions of power on a monthly basis, to ensure overall stability within the tribe. It is no wonder that as patriarchy and capitalism have taken hold, we now associate the moon with madness, 'lunatic', 'lunacy'. But if we begin to embrace these monthly cycles, we can reclaim it's revolutionary power.
I highly recommend reading more about 'Lunarchy', from the Radical Anthropology Group:
